Item Description
A fantastic wood bird cage circa 1970s, painted matte black with sage green and red accents at the front. A turned finial adorns a gabled roof atop a breakfront exterior, with rectangle carved trims over carved arches. The front features two stacked doors in a complimenting arched form, kept closed with twisting metal loop handles. The cage is decorated throughout with thin vertical dowels interrupted by horizontal planks; radiating from a central pierced circle on the pediment. The cage bottom slides out from the back, and the roof can be lifted by removing pegs from the back.
Condition: In good vintage condition with light finish wear, minor wood losses, and scattered scuffs. The roof finial is a bit loose, affixed with a screw from the underside. Minor warping on some dowels with one broken on the far right, please see pictures.
