Outstanding pair of late 19th to early 20th century framed Asian hand painted bone plaques. These epic Eastern style images depict similar horseback hunting scenes. Both images are expertly painted on carved bone plaques with rich colors. Carved plaques are centered on paper, with beautiful blue and green backgrounds. The antique frames are easily as impressive as the images themselves, with wonderfully intricate bone and wood geometric patterns.

Dimensions (small, frame): 6 5/8” W x 8 5/8” H x 3/4” D

Condition: The presentation quality of the smaller wood and bone frame is immaculate, with only the tiniest of blemishes visible in the glossy frame. The larger frame has a few more nicks and scratches, but still presents great for its age. There is an area of bone chipped off of the left inner edge of the frame. The plaque surfaces under the glass are visually stunning, clean, and show no major flaws. Both framed pieces exhibit wonderful color quality and make a terrific pair.
