Item Description
Otto Planding was born in Germany in 1887. Before he moved to Canada, he spent time studying at the Munich Academy of Art. From there Planding moved to Canada in 1913.
Upon his arrival in 1913, Planding worked and supported himself exclusively by painting.
Planding resided in Toronto and spent the majority of his time painting in the countryside north of Toronto around the Georgian Bay area which is similar to the work at hand which depicts a lovely winter landscape with snow covered land, pine trees and a clearing in the center leading the eye of the viewer to the well painted body of water in the distance.
The painting is presented in a lovely and ornately carved and gilt finished wood frame.

Frame: 11 5/8”H x 14 5/8”W
Condition: there is light wear around the border where the painted board meet the frame. Could be tightened. Light losses to finish of the frame but overall the painting presents wonderfully.
