A fine pair of Chinese plaque table screens. The pale green, semi-translucent circular plaques depict Fu, Lou, and Shou in relief. The figures are beautifully detailed with carved bone faces and hands, wearing red, yellow, and green robes with iridescent mother of pearl accents and gilt patterning. The scenes are mirrored on each plaque, with the figures gathering around swirling clouds and textural foliage. Displayed in pierced and scrolled red-brown wood frames with matching stands.
Condition: Displays well with expected wear commensurate with age. Light surface scratches, scuffs, and minor finish wear. One plaque is missing a cloud and has losses to the ribbons around a gourd staff, and has broken losses to the pierced scrolls of the frame. The other plaque has a loss to the ground foliage. One stand is missing a pierced corner bracket at the lower left, while the other has a past repair to the top left that blends nicely.
