This is an excellent photo of Joe Pilates' "gymnasium" in 1969 while he works with a client on one of his unique pieces of equipment called "the cadillac." Rapoport was the only photojournalist allowed to photograph Pilates in his gymnasium as he developed/implemented his famous fitness regimen.
I.C. Rapoport (Chuck Rapoport, born May 13, 1937) is known both for his work as a photojournalist in the 1960s and more recently as a TV and film screenwriter. Rapoport's photography career is noted for his exclusive and rare photographs of Joseph Pilates, the now famous fitness master and creator of the Pilates Method. Throughout the Sixties, Rapoport was also called upon to photograph Francois Truffaut, Samuel Beckett, Charles Aznavour, JFK, Jackie Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe, Robert Penn Warren, Fidel Castro, The Lovin’ Spoonful and scores of other notables.
The photograph/frame is in good condition.
