Item Description
An aesthetic movement gilt and carved wood mirror backed display cabinet circa 1875. Triple arched cornice with stylized scrolling foliate trim enclosing one long beveled mirror back plate within two rectangular beveled glass cabinets. Surmounted by conforming mirror backs issuing balustrade side rails on a stretcher shelf. Raised on short fluted colonnettes with ringed capitals above a beveled glass sided and hinged door cabinet centering a lozenge form mullion flanked by tall thin fluted colonnettes topped by ringed capitals on a balustrade bordered plinth. Supported by short foliate detailed cabriole legs joined by turned stretchers.
Dimensions: 38" W x 70" H x 12 3/4" D
Condition: gilding is fairly bright throughout with small areas of normal wear, surface build up, some expected small marks and scratches, a few small repairs. The mirror plates are in good shape as are the beveled glass paneled compartments, each shelf and compartment interior floor has a removable mustard colored velvet wrapped wood panel. No keys but compartment doors are not locked.
