Schwalbe was one of the artists "in the Linien artists association who in 1956 initiated the second generation of Danish Constructivism which they called concrete realism."
Schwalbe was a self - taught painter but trained as a printmaker between 1945 - 1950.
First exhibiting his work at the Kunstnernes Efterårsudstilling (Artists Autumn Exhibition) in 1945, at the young age of 16 years old. By 1956 Schwalbe associated himself with the second generation of Danish Constructivism, also known as concrete realism.

Size of portfolio: 24 1/4"H x 20"W
Condition: The portfolio has significant water damage which can be seen in the lot photos. Some of the lithographs are still in ok condition but some are heavily damaged. See photos. Even still the portfolio is quite fantastic and some of the lithographs may be able to be salvaged.
