Item Description
Michael Ricker (American, 1940-2006) was an accomplished Colorado based artist with a focus on sculpture. Ricker began creating pewter, collectible sculpture in 1968. Ricker's process involves use of Old English Pewter ingots which are melted down to cast limited edition sculptures and other works of art. By 1991, construction of a new museum, gallery and casting studio had been completed which further enhanced the collectabilty of his limited edition sculptural works of art.
Ricker passed away in 2006, and his brother and sister created the company known as Designs By Ricker where they continue to carry on production of his fabulous work.
The sculpture comes together with its official Certificate of Title denoting the works title, hallmark number of casting, issue price, total castings limited to, date of casting, appraised value and date of appraisal.
The current work depicts a whale atop a wood base with a plaque denoting the work is of the 'California Coastal Collection'
The 'Grey Whale' is marvelously depicted mid swim and presents incredible detail.
