Michael Ricker (American, 1940-2006) was an accomplished Colorado based artist with a focus on sculpture. Ricker began creating pewter, collectible sculpture in 1968. Ricker's process involves use of Old English Pewter ingots which are melted down to cast limited edition sculptures and other works of art. By 1991, construction of a new museum, gallery and casting studio had been completed which further enhanced the collectabilty of his limited edition sculptural works of art.
Ricker passed away in 2006, and his brother and sister created the company known as Designs By Ricker where they continue to carry on production of his fabulous work.
The limited edition sculpture comes together with its official Certificate of Title denoting the works title and series, hallmark number of casting, issue price, total castings limited to, date of casting, appraised value and date of appraisal.
The current work depicts NFL Quarterback Brett Favre during his tenure with the Green Bay Packers. Favre can be seen mid stride and mid celebration with one leg planted on the ground and both arms raised with his helmet in his right hand.
The pewter sculpture is on a brass mounted base with a signature plate at his feet and a plaque to the base that states: "THE LEGEND LIVES / 'BRETT FAVRE'" along with the artists name and number in series '143/158'
