Item Description
Michael Ricker (American, 1940-2006) was an accomplished Colorado based artist with a focus on sculpture. Ricker began creating pewter, collectible sculpture in 1968. Ricker's process involves use of Old English Pewter ingots which are melted down to cast limited edition sculptures and other works of art. By 1991, construction of a new museum, gallery and casting studio had been completed which further enhanced the collectabilty of his limited edition sculptural works of art.
Ricker passed away in 2006, and his brother and sister created the company known as Designs By Ricker where they continue to carry on production of his fabulous work.
The pewter sculpture is likely apart of the artists signature series and depicts the NFL Hall of Fame running back 'Walter Payton' clutching the football tight into his chest with his left hand, mid stride with his left leg planted and his right up and in stride, along with his right arm extended. There is a plaque with signature to his feet.
The work depicts the legendary football player with an engraved plaque which notes highlights including being NFL PLAYER OF THE YEAR AND MOST VALUABLE PLAYER 1977 AND 1985.
The work is signed and dated 1999 with the edition number '89/100' on reverse.

Condition: Good overall, presents well.
