Michael Ricker (American, 1940-2006) was an accomplished Colorado based artist with a focus on sculpture. Ricker began creating pewter, collectible sculpture in 1968. Ricker's process involves use of Old English Pewter ingots which are melted down to cast limited edition sculptures and other works of art. By 1991, construction of a new museum, gallery and casting studio had been completed which further enhanced the collectabilty of his limited edition sculptural works of art.
Ricker passed away in 2006, and his brother and sister created the company known as Designs By Ricker where they continue to carry on production of his fabulous work.
The limited edition sculpture comes together with its Certificate of Authenticity, denoting the signature plate of the Ltd. Ed. sculpture is in fact an "actual, true, and genuine signature of ROGER STAUBACH.
The work also comes with its official Certificate of Title denoting the works title and series - THE LEGEND LIVES, FOOTBALL, "ROGER STAUBACH", hallmark number of casting No. 149, issue price $525., total castings limited to 600, date of casting 1995, appraised value $892.50, and date of appraisal 1995.
The current work depicts legendary Hall of Fame NFL quarterback Roger Staubach standing tall in his uniform holding a clipboard with a younger player looking on in. Fabulous detail can be seen throughout the sculpture which has the signed plate at Roger's feet.
The sculpture is mounted on a brass mounted base with a plaque affixed to the base which states: "THE LEGEND LIVES / "ROGER STAUBACH", the artists name and series number '149/600'.
