Michael Ricker (Am., 1940-2006) Ltd. Ed. Pewter Sculpture On Base, "Johnny Unitas Commemorative"

Michael Ricker (American, 1940-2006) was an accomplished Colorado based artist with a focus on sculpture. Ricker began creating pewter, collectible sculpture in 1968. Ricker's process involves use of Old English Pewter ingots which are melted down to cast limited edition sculptures and other works of art. By 1991, construction of a new museum, gallery and casting studio had been completed which further enhanced the collectabilty of his limited edition sculptural works of art.
Ricker passed away in 2006, and his brother and sister created the company known as Designs By Ricker where they continue to carry on production of his fabulous work.

The limited edition sculpture comes together with its Certificate of Authenticity, denoting: "the signature of "JOHNNY UNITAS" on the signature plate of the limited edition sculpture created by Michael Ricker, known as 'THE JOHNNY UNITAS COMMEMORATIVE' is an actual, true, and genuine signature, and I have examined all contracts pertaining to this matter."

The work also comes with its official Certificate of Title denoting the works title and series - Football Signature / Johnny Unitas Commemorative", hallmark number of casting No. 46, issue price $600., total castings limited to 200, date of casting 2000, appraised value $1020., and date of appraisal - 18-Dec-00.

The current work depicts world renowned, legendary football Quarterback Johnny Unitas. The quarterback is depicted as having the football and dropping back with the football in his right hand with his left securing the ball while he looks ahead for a throw that appears to be imminent.
The signed plaque is at his feet, which itself is mounted on a brass mounted base. A plaque is mounted to the base which reads: "THE LEGEND LIVES / JOHNNY UNITAS COMMEMORATIVE / GREATEST QUARTERBACK OF ALL TIME", with the artists name to the lower left and the edition number '46/200' to the lower right.
