Michael Ricker (American, 1940-2006) was an accomplished Colorado based artist with a focus on sculpture. Ricker began creating pewter, collectible sculpture in 1968. Ricker's process involves use of Old English Pewter ingots which are melted down to cast limited edition sculptures and other works of art. By 1991, construction of a new museum, gallery and casting studio had been completed which further enhanced the collectabilty of his limited edition sculptural works of art.
Ricker passed away in 2006, and his brother and sister created the company known as Designs By Ricker where they continue to carry on production of his fabulous work.
The work comes with a copy of its official Certificate of Title denoting the works title and series - PEWTER STACKS / STACKED FROGS, hallmark number of casting No. 810, issue price $50., total castings limited to 1500, date of casting 1999, appraised value $85., and date of appraisal 11-JUL-00.
The current work depicts from the base up, a rockery formed base, with a lizard / iguana with curled tail, a spotted frog on top of the lizard with another spotted frog standing atop the underneath frog and finally with a young frog standing perpendicular to the frogs and lizard beneath it. The top most young frog has a wonderful gilt finish as finial.
Engraved with the edition series number underfoot.

Condition: Good overall, light surface wear with some loss of the gilt finish to the uppermost frog but overall the sculpture presents fabulously and will surely grace a display area of your choosing. Presents playfully well.
