"Memoirs of General William T. Sherman by Himself in Two Volumes" published by D. Appleton & Co., NY 1875. Includes volumes one and two. The fly page of volume one has an ink-written note from David Gemmell Baillie Sr (1866-1937): "I knew Gen. Sherman. I was at his funeral. The Confederate General Joseph E. Johnston was a pall-bearer." A similar note is written in volume two. A newspaper clipping about Sherman from NY Times August 4, 1933 is included. The books are finished with tan brown hardcovers.
Condition: In generally fair condition with leather wear to the covers including tearing along the joint and flaking with minor losses to the spine covers. Minimal paper toning with scattered discoloration.
