Maurice Henri Hensel was an artist of l'Ecole de Montmartre and is best known as a watercolorist. He regularly showed his work at the Salon d'Automne and held several solo shows at Galerie Bernheim Jeune in Paris. In his early years, he was strongly influenced by Toulouse de Lautrec and Diegas and romanticized the darker side of the Bohemian life, which reflects in his watercolors and paintings of dancers and courtesans.
