Item Description
A massive exceptional Italian Renaissance armoire in a dark wood. The cornice is over carved lion heads on the supports with carved leafy bands. The large metal grille doors open to a white painted interior with shelf adjustment tabs and with one preserved shelf. With the key.
The long lower drawer with a carved scrolled foliate band with a center bust. The lower supports with high relief carved seated winged lions holding an incised biblical book text (certainly a reference to Mark the Evangelist). The lower high base with a carved running wave band and raised on bun and peg feet.
Dimensions: 80" H x 21 1/2" D x 54" W
Condition: Please see the detail photos. The interior is worn with some open joinery. There are some chipped losses to the grille door finish. The projecting shelf under the doors with scrapes and wear. Expected wear to the feet.
