Marilyn Fairma (American) is a contemporary American painter who's stylistic choices are routed in with obvious influence from earlier styles including the Hudson River School painters and the Impressionist movement. Fairman's work is very much in the Plein Air style and includes many wonderful open and airy landscapes.
The current painting depicts a wonderful impressionistic, plein air, style landscape with river bank. Titled on verso to stretcher, "Early Light" depicts the morning sun, shining light onto a fast moving river or stream seen on the left side of the canvas with trees in bloom off to the right, just on shore. The misty sky with vivid yellows of the morning sun.
Signed in the lower left corner.
Presented in a spectacular carved wood and gesso and gilt painted wood frame. The frame with marvelous shell form carved accents at each corner, seen in relief.
