Marcel Vertès (French, 1895-1961) was an artist with Hungarian-Jewish origins. As an artist he worked in a variety of media and roles, including as a costume designer, illustrator and printmaker.
Vertes won two Academy Awards for the work he contributed towards the 1952 film Moulin Rouge.
The current color lithograph depicts a lovely figural still life style image with a girl with bangs and shoulder length hair seated at a table with one elbow on the table and her hand supporting her chin. Her other arm is extended with a stemmed flower in the palm of her open hand.
A footed vase with marvelously depicted floral bouquet issuing upwards. There is a green ground in the area behind the vase and girl.
Pencil signed to the lower right corner and numbered in pencil '5 / 100' to the lower left.
Presented with a trim border and mat around, within a silver paint finished carved wood frame and glazed under glass.

Condition: Good condition, lightly sun struck with the colors being gently muted. Overall the print is in good condition and presents very well.
