Malcolm N. Mackenzie (American, 1948-2012) impressionist oil painting on board depicting the corner of an urban street, with the facade of a building at the intersection of two roads. The corner building facade showcases shop windows below an awning over the first level. The artist has wonderfully and ornately depicted the intricate, quality stone work of the building architecture above. Figures appear at the lower right corner. Signed lower right.
Presented with a linen liner in a handsome carved frame with gilt borders around an ebonized center band.

About the Artist:
Malcolm Niven MacKenzie was an American artist known for urban and natural landscape painting. MacKenzie studied with Frank Reilly in New York before joining the Salmagundi Club in 1971 as a Junior Scholarship member. He rose through the ranks of the club and eventually held the title of Chairman of the Art Committee for the Board of Directors.
Good overall, sight wear to the verso of board which is ever so slightly loose in frame.
