Two Japanese, Meiji era, mixed metals objects including a vase along with a box with hinged lid.
The mixed metals vase is elongated, slender form. The vase rests on a circular foot and tapers slightly as it rises upwards towards the rounded mouth rim. The vase is decorated with applied mixed metals and enameling, depicting a cockeral with elongated tail feathers issuing downwards from the tree branch the bird is perched atop.

Together with a rectangular box with hinged lid, standing on four bracket form feet. The mixed metals box, features a cockeral perched atop a branch of a flowering prunus tree. The cockeral with long tail feathers in gilt finish hanging well below the branch. The box is engraved signed with two calligraphic marks to the lower left side of the box's lid.

Condition: The vase has wear to the finish, with dings and dents to the base near the foot and losses to the applied mixed metal decoration including the tree branches; The box has some wear to the patina and small nics but is in good form overall. Both, despite some wear commensurate with age and some handling present well.
