Item Description
Lined. Label on verso and labeled frame. It seems too late to be a portrait by Peter Lely (1618-1680). A formal 3/4 portrait of a beautiful young dark haired woman dressed in a teal blue gown with lace trim, ca. early Georgian period. The identification of the sitter as lady Elizabeth Aislabie (1706-1733) is tenuous in any case.
