A well painted oil on canvas painting by artist Larry Rosted. The painting depicts a man in a rocking chair with his legs up and crossed on top of a cocktail table, where a single teacup with its saucer dish can be seen. The interior space is well presented with various styled furniture, windows in the background above a full bookshelf. In front of the windows, on top of the book shelves below are vases and planters with leafy plants attracted to the light.
A printed poster can be seen on the wall behind bearing an image and wording "De Stijl" which was an artistic style of the 20th century which was fascinated with angular "NeoPlasticism" and abstraction. Notably Piet Mondrian was a member of De Stijl; Mondrian is a giant of Modern Art and is believed to have been one of the first to break through into abstraction by means of geometrical forms and angles.
Signed and dated '84 to lower right.
Presented with a natural finished wood frame.

Condition: Good overall, gentle wear to the painted finish which is likely commensurate with some age and light handling but overall the painting presents handsomely.
