Item Description
Grand 19th century figured mahogany secretary breakfront. Top case with a cornice top over a vertically veneered apron, above 4 astragal glazed doors with brass escutcheons that open to a large storage area with adjustable shelving. Bottom case features a centralized long drawer with brass escutcheon and bail pulls that opens to reveal a drop front desk with a tooled leather writing surface, and with a centralized compartment and drawers with birdseye maple veneers. Above a pair of paneled doors with interior storage and a bisecting shelf. Flanked by two short drawers with brass bail pulls and escutcheons over paneled doors with interior storage and shelving.
Condition: Expected signs of wear for age including break to right cornice top, alligatoring, checking, breakage, scuffs and loss, brass pulls with verdigris, leather with wear. Please refer to photography. None of which detract from the overall aesthetic of this grand piece.
