Kinetic Steel Sculpture by American artist Charles Ringer, born in Minnesota in 1948. Ringer attended the University of Colorado from 1966-1968 and then left to pursue a career in art. This playful, kinetic, painted steel sculpture depicts four cowboys on their horses with guns drawn, seen riding their horses. When moved the cowboys, rock back and forth on pegs attached to the stand, appearing as if riding along with one another. The whole sculpture is set on a wood base. Marked by the artist "Charles Ringer" on the support.
13.5"h. x 26"l.
Condition: There is a deep crack to the wooden base but does not appear harmful in any way to the playful nature of the mobile sculpture. It may be worthwhile to solidify the crack for the purpose of prolonging the life of the sculpture but at this point does not appear necessary immediately. The kinetic sculpture is playful and cause and effect derived. Sure to start a conversation and play wherever placed.
