Keiko Minami (Japanese, 1911 -2004) was a Japanese artist with a focus on aquatint engraving and color etchings, in addition to being a poet. K. Minami is most well known for her pictograph-like prints with a lovely, folk aesthetic.
Keiko had been married to fellow artist Yozo Hamaguchi.
Keiko Minami had expressed an interest in the arts at an early age where she painted and wrote poetry in her youthful days in high school. She also "studied the art of children's stories under the Japanese novelist and poet Sakae Tsuboi. She attended the School of Fine Arts Tokyo, now called the Tokyo University of the Arts from 1927 until 1929."
In "1984, Minami was nominated as an honorary member of the Japan Print Association. In 1998, Musée Hamaguchi Yōzō/Yamasa Collection (ミュゼ浜口陽三·ヤマサコレクション) ".
The current work depicts a bird on the ground with a naively depicted tree with colored orbs within.

Condition: Stain to the mat in the lower left corner. Only minor wear to the printed paper in that corner but not examined out of frame. Despite the stain to mat which should be changed the print itself presents fabulously.
