John Warren Gray (American, 1824-1912) "Nerepis Stream St. Johns River in the Distance" oil on canvas depicting a pair of cattle drinking from a stream flanked by trees. Hills are seen in the background, outlined by a lake. Signed center bottom, dated appearing 1902. A handwritten title is affixed to the stretcher back. Displayed in a simple gilt frame.
Condition: With wear commensurate with age. Varnish yellowing, discoloration, canvas warping, and a few spots of paint loss that do not significantly detract from appearance. Finish wear and discoloration to frame.
