Item Description
John Stobart (British, 1929-2003) "Hannibal: A view from Mark Twain's Boyhood Home" lithograph depicting a cityscape along a river. The road follows a hill gently sloping past brick homes and storefronts surrounded by figures with horse-drawn wagons. Large steamboats dock at the water's edge, as a straight canopy of green foliage lines the horizon under a light blue sky dotted with clouds. Pencil signed and numbered 96/750 lower right, titled lower center. Fine print above the image reads "Published by Maritime Heritage Prints, Inc in limited signed edition of 750 (50 remarqued) from the original painting in the artist's exhibition at Kennedy Galleries, New York November 1979. Print copyright 1979." Displayed behind glass with tiered white and orange mats in a warm brown frame.
Condition: Displays well with light wear to frame. The frame has intentionally designed etched marks, giving the appearance of aged checking.
