John C. Traynor was born in 1961, where he spent his youth in Chester and Mendham, New Jersey.
Traynor went on to pursue formal training in the arts at Paier College of Art in New Haven in addition to figural painting at the world renowned Art Students League of New York.
Traynor also continued his studies in landscape painting in Vermont and sculptural study in Florence, Italy.
As far as artistic style, Traynor's works are often assimilated to works by great 19th century French artists, in addition to bearing resemblance to several of the Dutch Old Masters.
Traynor's paintings often display a fabulous sense of light and shadow, while incorporating edgework to outline his realistic landscapes.
The current work represents the artist taking on the still life theme. The artist has masterfully done so and in an almost Impressionistic manner depicts a lovely floral bouquet in a blue and white Chinese teapot.
Traynor has been the recipient of more than 200 arts related awards, including the Frank Dumont Memorial Award which is awarded to the artist whom best incorporates light and atmospheric effect within a painting.
Traynor notedly was also honored with Salmagundi Awards including the N.C. Wyeth Award as well as the Jane Patterson Award for Excellence.
His work is incorporated within numerous public and private art institutions. His work is enjoyed in numerous private, public, and museum collections in the United States.

Presented within a wonderfully carved and gilt finished wood frame.

Condition: Good overall condition, there is some paint and spot stains to the verso of the board as well as the thin linen fillet of the frame but does not diminish the painting whatsoever. The painting presents exceptionally well overall.
