Jean-Pierre Dubord (French, B. 1949) was born in Rouen and developed a international success for his fabulous post Impressionistic painting style.
In 1985, Dubord "received an honorable mention at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris and has since exhibited in numerous galleries around the world such as Tokyo, New York, Chicago, Palm Beach or Miami."
The current painting depicts a wonderful landscape in Bretagne as the title suggests. The small provincial villiage with small structures and a road leading down to the sea where several small sailboats can be seen with their sails up. There are figures depicted but appear as if mid stride on their walk, as if the painting was painted en plein air like many of his Impressionist predecessors.
Signed in lower left in addition to being signed and titled on verso.
Presented with a lovely carved and gilt finished frame.
