Jean-Pierre Dubord (French, B. 1940) spent his youth in the French countryside following his birth in Rouen.
Dubord's style has deep roots in French Impressionism. His works are highly collectible and award winning as Dubord has been the recipient of numerous prestigious awards.
The current painting depicts an Impressionistic style rural village landscape with several small buildings / homes.
One of which has a tall peaked roof with two chimneys, one of which is issuing smoke which the artist masterfully includes with quick strokes of white paint. Wildflowers in polychrome colors adorn the landscape which is overall lovely.
The painting is signed in the lower corner and signed and titled on verso.
Comes with an envelope concealed on verso denoting an exhibition of his works from Lois Richards Galleries titled "Normandy Renderings By J.P. Dubord" from Nov. 14, 2004.
Presented with a fabulous carved gilt finished frame.
