J.S. Cartier is a photographer whom was born in Paris, France in 1932. His work is focused on aspects of nature and the human environment "not apparent at first glance.
This wonderfully framed photograph depicts the Flatiron building in New York City at night. The iconic form of the flatiron presents as a darker ominous form set against the slightly lighter shade of the night sky.
The work is pencil signed, dated and titled to the lower border.
There is an affixed label on verso from the Art Lending Service / The Museum of Modern Art with information about the photograph which had been lent to the museum for exhibition.
