India Nola Wilson (b. 1853) "St. Benedict's Abbey-England" oil on canvas depicting a windmill next to some ruins in a grassy field surrounded by grazing cows. The calming landscape leads down a dirt path to sailboats on a bay under a pretty pink and orange sky. Titled and signed on the back. Displayed without glass in a beveled gilt frame with a relief trim. Accompanied by a family photograph that includes the artist, which was taken by David Smith Cole (American [IA], 1843-1916). The back of the photograph displays handwritten names of the Wilson family, including Lewis, Sara, India Nola, Omar, and Hermann Wilson.
Condition: The painting displays well with some surface scratches and discoloration that do not significantly detract from appearance; a spot of paint wear at the top right corner. Expected scuffs, nicks, and finish wear to the frame with some minor relief losses at the corners. Corner wear to the photograph. Please review the pictures as they are a part of the condition report.
