Item Description
An impressive Crown Naples Capodimonte moulded and polychrome finished ewer. Standing on a quatrefoil form good with gilt foliate decoration on white ground. The pedestal with moulded and polychrome finished mermaids holding up the cylindrical mid section which itself is embellished with numerous putti in low waters depicted fishing amongst other activities such as playing the horn with sea grasses in the background. The handle is marvelously potted in the form of a Satyr with human form body and animal form lower body. The mouth neck with gilt finished swirling motifs and a nicely shaped spout.
Marked underfoot with the N and crown above along with gilt lettering denoting the work was Made in France with a pair of crossed arrows.
Dimensions: 14 1/2"H
Condition: Listed As Is, mainly due to the putti figure whom can be seen on top of the handle has had its head lost and does not come with the lot. the section could likely be repaired and restored but could be left as is.
