Item Description
Igor Pantuhoff was born in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1911 and died in New York, U.S. in 1972.
The painting depicts a fantastic Surrealist style image with a footed glass vase with four long stemmed flowers including peonies issuing out and standing tall with marvelously painted polychrome blooms. The landscape the vase stands in is vast and Surrealist. The floor in front of the vase in the direct foreground bears an Ace of Hearts playing card with cherries and leaves randomly placed or fallen onto the floor. In the distance are biomorphic figural forms in a grey and obscure landscape with what appears to be curtains issuing from the top of the painting, falling about 4 - 5" down.
Signed in the lower left corner.
Presented with a linen filet and within a wood finished frame.

Condition: The painting presents very well, looking at the reverse there is some staining to the back of the canvas which fortunately does not show through as the image is in good condition and presents well overall.
