Item Description
A fine collection of Quimper polychrome finished ceramics, late 19th C. - 20th C.
The lot includes:
- An HR Quimper polychrome finished, ceramic, twin handled cup on saucer dish. The twin handled cup features stylized handles of lobed form with yellow and blue finish. The cup itself with a myriad of decorative motifs including circular medallions with underglaze blue criss crossed finish within a decorative band. The center of the cup features a wonderfully decorated circular reserve with criss crossed red with blue dots, with a yellow finished trim band flanked on either side with thin blue bands. The saucer tray with matching decoration.

- Together with a Porquier Beau marked water pitcher. Nicely formed of baluster form with a shaped mouth and spout and nicely proportioned handle with blue foliate motif on white ground. The body of the water pitcher with a Breton man holding his bagpipe wearing traditional attire. Various floral sprays all about.

Marked PB underfoot.

Disclaimer: All Quimper and Porquier Beau lots have wear and minor losses with glaze imperfections commensurate with age and handling. Look through the lot images carefully, these lots are being sold in As Is condition.
Condition: There is crazing to pitcher with sticker residue underfoot. The mouth rim has light pinkish hue to the white glaze which may be from older restoration or commensurate with age. A spot on the back of the mouth, closer to the handle than spout appears chipped but is likely from manufacturing and is glazed to not detract from the visual aesthetic. The cup and saucer with some wear and nics to the glaze but overall in good form and despite wear all present well.
