Holmes Smith (American, 1863-1943) collection of watercolor studies on paper. A beautiful assortment of natural landscapes, including forests, mountains, and lakes. Some paper backs are stamped "Holmes Smith; Washington University, Saint Louis MO" while others have handwritten titles and signatures. One piece is dated 1894. Some pieces are unfinished, offering a fascinating look into the artist's process. A few pieces are mounted to board, most are loose.
Condition: Displays well with expected wear commensurate with age. Paper toning, wear around the edges.
