Item Description
This finely hand-painted Herend porcelain serving dish displays the Rothschild Bird (RO) pattern. At its center, two finely detailed songbirds rest upon a delicate flowering branch, their feathers rendered in soft natural hues of rust, grey, and ochre along with a necklace laid over the branch. Surrounding them, a scattering of colorful butterflies and insects lends lively contrast to the gleaming white porcelain. The dish features a gently squared form with rounded corners and Herend’s signature basketweave relief border, adding textural interest to the smooth glaze. The rim is trimmed in hand-applied gilt, which enhances its refined presentation. The reverse bears the Herend Hungary blue shield mark, inscribed HANDPAINTED and numbered 181/RO 135-A.

Condition: Excellent overall condition. The porcelain is clean and glossy, with no chips, cracks, or restorations. The hand-painted decoration remains vibrant, and the gilding is bright and intact with only the most minimal signs of handling.
