Item Description

The rounded body features a gently fluted foot and neck edged in hand-painted 24K gold scalloping, framing vivid scenes from the Rothschild Bird series. Each panel depicts a pair of colorful songbirds perched amid delicately rendered branches with necklace with green foliage and blossoms, surrounded by fluttering butterflies and insects, painted in Herend’s signature bright enamels. The domed lid continues the decoration with butterflies and gold edging and is topped with a three-dimensional dolphin finial — modeled with dramatic curvature and detailed with gilt scales and highlights. The underside bears the blue Herend Hungary shield mark, inscribed HANDPAINTED, and pattern number 6542-0-18/RO.

Dimensions: 9 1/2" H x 6" DIA

Condition: Excellent overall condition. The porcelain is clean and lustrous, the gilding bright and intact, and the hand-painted details vibrant with no chips, cracks, or restorations observed. Minimal marring to the unglazed rim on base consistent with careful shelf display.
