Item Description
Herend Hungary porcelain handled chop plate or smaller serving platter, hand-painted in the Rothschild Bird (RO) pattern and finished with 24K gold detailing. The circular plate features a finely scalloped rim with ornate pierced handles, accented in gilded scrollwork and feathered highlights. At the center, two vividly painted songbirds perch among leafy branches, surrounded by colorful butterflies and insects, all framed by Herend’s signature basketweave-textured border. The rim is delicately edged in gold for a refined, luminous finish. The underside bears the Herend Hungary blue shield hallmark with crossed paintbrushes, the inscription HANDPAINTED, and the model and pattern number 315/RO.
Dimensions: 11 1/8" L x 12 5/8" W, handle to handle
Condition: Excellent overall. The plate displays no chips, cracks, or restorations. The hand-painted decoration is bright and crisp, and the gilding remains intact with minimal to no wear. Only faint, expected shelf wear is visible on the unglazed base ring. The underside is clean and clearly marked with the Herend hallmark, retaining the vivid blue stamp and model reference. The porcelain surface is free of discoloration or crazing.
Condition
Good condition, presents very well. Some label residue on verso which could be cleaned and removed. Overall presents very well.
