Herend Hungary hand-painted porcelain oval platter, featuring the Rothschild Bird (RO) pattern with 24K gold edging. The platter showcases Herend’s classic osier (basketweave) relief border and a gently scalloped rim trimmed in gleaming gold. At its center, two vividly painted songbirds perch gracefully on a leafy branch above a grassy mound with necklace. Surrounding the scene, a flutter of multicolored butterflies and insects adds to the design. On the underside, the Herend Hungary blue shield hallmark with crossed paintbrushes appears, inscribed HANDPAINTED and numbered 1202/RO.

Condition: Excellent overall. The platter is free from chips, cracks, or repairs, and the glaze maintains a brilliant, smooth luster. The gilt edging shows no wear, and the hand-painted motifs remain bright, detailed, and crisp. Only minor, expected base wear is visible on the foot ring from shelf contact. The base is clean and well-marked, with a clear and sharp Herend factory stamp and impressed model number. The foot rim retains a clean ivory tone with only light, superficial scuffing consistent with careful display.
