Bronze statue on a marble base. This lovely dark brown patinated bronze is "Allegra", by Harriet Frishmuth, from 1929. The sculpture is modeled after Czech dancer Delsha Delteil, and reflects the split second moment of repose from when a dancer stops one move, and before they enter into another. Allegra is also one of the more restrained Frishmuth sculptures - perhaps mirroring the unsettled times of 1929.
"Allegra" was cast mostly at the Gorham. Co. Founders, with number of pieces also being cast at the Roman Bronze Works (RBW).
