Gustave Aimard (1818–1883), often referred to as the "French Fenimore Cooper," was a prolific author known for his adventure novels set in the American frontier, Mexico, and occasionally, the Indian subcontinent. His "Tales of Indian Life and Adventure" series (often published as Aimard's Tales of Indian Life or within the Aimard Library) largely focused on the struggles and interactions between Native American tribes, settlers, and adventurers in the mid-19th century.

The books with green cloth, red leather spine with gilt print, marbleized borders on three sides, no illustrations. Published by S. Cowan & Co. at the Strathmore Printing Works, likely in the late 19th century, circa 1886.
Dimensions: 4 1/2" W, 6 3/4" H, 1/2" to 1" D
One volume 7 1/8" H
Condition: all the end wraps and fly pages are heavily foxed, sporadic foxing otherwise. The Trail Hunter with a loose gathering. Wear to spine, corners, scratches to boards. Inked writing inside front fly page.
