Gorgeous antique 18th / 19th century Georgian Oak Welsch dresser with plate rack seen separate in the photos. The Welsch dresser has been displayed as a gorgeous console table but could certainly have the above platerack placed back on top if the new owner so desired.
With a gorgeous patina to the aged oak dresser, the rectangular table top sits above a group of three short drawers. Each of the three drawers mounted with three wonderfully shaped gilt brass escutcheons, one for a key (which is not present with this lot) and two with swing handle drawer pulls. The dresser has two squared legs in the back and two turned supports in the front.
The above plate rack has a total of 8 storage shelves, 4 on each side flanking a shaped cabinet door set with brass escutcheon that opens to reveal a storage area with an affixed shelf. Above the cabinet door is an old world, openwork metallic clock that makes for quite a presentation. The clock was not tested nor working at the time of inspection.
Dimensions: 31 1/2"H x 78"L x 18 1/4"D - Bottom dresser section
52"H x 76"W x 10"D - Above plate rack section
Condition: The is an old and subsequent re-finished chip to the front right circular support which can be seen in the lot images. One is a complete circle and the other is missing a small section. There are splits to portions of the drawers and chips and losses to corners and areas of drawers. There are two swing handles that are missing from the escutcheons. One from the middle drawer and the second from the right most drawer. Most condition issues can be seen in the attached lot images.
The top plate rack is missing a section of the raised trim, approximately a 5" section with other wear commensurate with age. The clock does not work and would need to be restored.
Most wear is commensurate with age and use and do not detract from the wonderful antique overall appearance of this phenominal item.
