Giovanni Battista Piranesi (Italian, 1720 - 1778) late state etching or possible reproduction print depicting the famous "Venduta dell' Arco di Settimio Severo" from the series 'Views of Rome' depicting a view of the Arch of Septimius Severus. Tt should be noted that the Temple of Saturn can be seen in the background.
Although this is a late state etching / reproduction, it depicts the image which originally dates back to 1772.

Pesented on a lovely mat with decorative border to interior around the print, set in a wonderfully carved and painted silver wood frame and glazed.

Condition: Not removed from frame for complete examination. Well framed, matted and glazed. The print does display what could be foxing to the laid paper but possibly reproduced appearance of a period printing. Overall presents nicely with only very minor surface wear to the frame.
