Gorgeous Francis Chapin (American, 1899 - 1965) watercolor painting, circa 1930's, depicting a wonderfully painted yellow house in a lushly depicted landscape with foliage seen all around. The painting has an expressionist feeling and the bright colors are wonderful.
Although there is no figural depiction, it's obvious this is a scene full of life.
The artist fills the space with lush color with light and shadow on full view as if painted en plein air.
Presented on a warm mat and in an black and gilt finished wood frame and glazed.
