Left:
"Frank Leslie's Illustrated History of the Civil War. New York: Mrs. Frank Leslie, 1894. The front-facing page depicts "Erecting Stockades at Newport News, VA., by the Federal Troops, June, 1861." and "Interior of the principal Confederate fortifications new New Berne, N.C., after their capture by the Federal forces under General Burnside, March 14th, 1862."
Center:
"Scenes and portraits of the Civil War: the most important events of the conflict between the states graphically pictured" New York: Mrs. Frank Leslie, 1894, and Leslie, Frank, 1821-1880. The front-facing page depicts "Headquarters of Vincent Collyer, Superintendent of the poor at New Berne, N.C. – Distribution of captured confederate clothing to the contrabands."
Right:
"Harper's Pictorial History of the Civil War" New York: McDonnell Bros., 1866. The front-facing page depicts "Landing of Troops at Slocum's Creek" and "Bombardment of Newbern."
Displayed behind glass with cream mats in brown frames with gilt interior borders.
Condition: Displays well with paper toning, light wrinkling, and light discoloration. Light scratches and a small spot of wood loss near the back of one frame do not detract from outward appearance.
