Item Description
Figured Mahogany case has a carved broken swan pediment. Embellishing the pediment are three spiral finials in brass. There is a Chippendale apron on the base and four tapering feet. Most interesting is the reverse painted scene of a plantation house. At the center of the scene is a clear glass oval to show the swing of the pendulum. The face is white porcelain with hand painted Arabic numerals and painted flowers in each corner. Fabricated by Ephraim Downes, Bristol CT. A fine example of an early American clock.
Dimension: 31" high x 16" wide x 5 " deep
Condition: The case is sturdy and in excellent condition for it's age. There is some crack veneer on the left pediment. There are no weights or pendulum.
