Item Description
A fantastic wood carving relief of a bearded man with double-bunned hair or hat, standing on a block pedestal with hands together praying. The piece tapers from the top to the middle, with a slightly overhanging top that casts a shadow, letting the head stand out. The carving incorporates the wood's natural bark texture, with smooth areas letting the grain shine through.
Condition: Displays well with wear commensurate with age. Multiple spots of hairline cracks that does not detract from appearance. An area of wood loss at the lower left corner, as well as wood loss at the lower back that is not seen from the front. Friction wear to higher areas of the relief, including the nose, hands, forearms, and kneecaps.
