Item Description
A fantastic Continental or European, marked '800', silver presentation bowl. The bowl features a marvelous central oval base which has been marvelously decorated with repousse figural imagery depicting cherubs in a bountiful landscape with foliate and floral imagery. The figural decoration is in deep relief and presents marvelously.
From the base the walls rise up and out with an attractive everted form. The walls are magnificently decorated with pierced, openwork motifs including swags and roundels with netting and flowers. On both of the longer walls, at the midpoint are repousse decorated vases with bountiful floral bouquets.
The mouth rim is decorated with a scrolling foliate motif for a handsome overall appearance.

Condition: There surface is tarnished and could use a fresh coat of polish. There are some small bends and dings to the delicate openwork walls but overall the bowl is in good form and presents really nicely.
