Item Description
An impressive and superbly crafted Antique European Twp-Over-Three Chest, likely English. With two short over three graduated long drawers. The banded top with book matched burl sections, carved edge and canted corners. The drawers with matching banding and book matched fronts and fine brass bat wing bales. Ribbed supports. The book matched sections with pale flower- like motifs in the construction. Raised on a carved base with bracket feet. Lacking a key.

Condition: Please see all detail photos. There is stable age-related grain separation of the “Tree ring” sections that form the top and front as well as stable age-separation to some of the various elements on the top edge as well as some time-softened scratches. There is some expected checking to the wood on the top and drawers and top edge, stable age crack to the right front foot and stable age cracks to the backing boards. The aforementioned is for accuracy as the Chest presents exceptionally well.
